We found our babysitter Emma via Care.com just a couple weeks before summer started. She is a college student and headed back to school next week so we have to say goodbye after what felt like the fastest summer ever. While you don’t want to break the bank, you do want to give them a small gift when they head out the door. Even though they’ve only been around for the summer, your babysitter become a part of your family so it’s nice to be able to surprise them with a back to college gift basket!’
It’s funny because you get so used to somethings and change can be really hard. When the girls found out their old sitter was no longer available due to school and just moving along with life in general, they were crushed. And I think they held that against Emma at first… But now, Olive waits at the door, looks out the window, and is always looking for Emma. Olive spends the most time with her now, but Ella has become very fond of her too. So even though it’s only been about 10 weeks together, we are definitely going to miss her! Especially the girls!
COLLEGE GIFT BASKETS
We decided to get her a fun little back to school thank you gift. It’s combined. hahah. I mean college students don’t usually need much and I’m sure she’s already done with her back to school shopping, but we figured a few little sentiments added to this little college gift basket would be nice.
I know she’s a girl who doesn’t probably want for much, but that doesn’t mean that she won’t appreciate the gesture! So I set out to grab mostly practical items that anyone could use and a few little things that I figured she might enjoy.
I think it turned out really well.
Notebooks … Pens
Caramels & Madelines
Reusable Drink Cup … Silicone Grip … Gift Cards
Succulent … Mini Planner … Candle
Febreeze … Wrinkle Spray … Dry Shampoo
Iphone Cord … Pictures
I really hope she likes I and I honestly think she will! It’s always hard to guess what people can use/need/like, but we did our best!
And she did!
Do you all send your sitters off with a gift at the end of the summer?
