O My M G!
First Concert!
Ells picked jeans and t-shirt to wear, which was not what I was expecting, but I was letting her do her thing this night. She didn’t ask for hoop earrings or extra chokers or even a lick of makeup! So #momwin! But there was a chance of rain so I did grab both our raincoats as we walked out the door.
We were going to make an evening of it, a bit of a mommy daughter evening, but ran out of time so we just grabbed dinner in the car on the way there. Don’t judge, but it was McDonald’s.
I could tell so many things were going through Ella’s mind as we drove downtown to see Kidz Bop Live at The Lawn at White River! She was extra quiet and just looking out the window. We did a quick interview once we got there and she said she was nervous. You might have seen it if you follow my Insta Stories. She mentioned that also in the car on the way there, but I figured it would clear out… Nope! Nervous. First concert and this girl was nervous. I think more for what to expect. This was a brand new experience.
Don’t worry, the nerves quickly went to the wayside and she was moving and grooving to all the songs! Every one that they sang she would say “I love this one” or “Oh, this is my favorite!” It was very cute.
They were supposed to start at 6, but didn’t start until 6:15p. There was a ton of traffic so I assumed they were waiting for lines to finish clearing up. Then they broke at about 7p for a 15 min or so intermission and then we were walking to our cars by 7:30p. I mean 2 hours for a concert isn’t asking that much. And believe me, it’s a KIDZ concert so I didn’t want it to last FOREVER, but we ended up spending more time in the parking garage than the darn concert! And with 37+ Kidz Bop Albums, I was assuming there was plenty of material. Even Ella looked at me when they walked off stage and said, “Is it over?”
All in all it was a good time. A few sprinkles during the show but a lot of good dance moves and fun with friends.
Next time though, she’s going to a REAL concert.
But which one?!?
