Have you all heard of Beauty Counter?
I hadn’t until about this time last year maybe?!? I ran into an old college friend while out and about around town. When I got home, I had a friend request from her on facebook and I noticed she had Beauty Counter listed as her employer. I was not sure what it was so I did a little digging and read about it.
Flash forward to earlier this summer, that same friend posted a shocking graphic about sunscreen and how certain brands are banned in Hawaii because of all the junk in them. This made me immediately want to purchase the Beauty Counter brand.
And then, my friend from work, Ashley, reached out! She said she loves the visibility of the company and their dedication to safety! They have a “never” list and are constantly pushing for stricter regulations on the beauty industry in Washington. After hearing about the company she asked me if I’d like to try a few things… to which I responded absolutely!
They have Beauty in a Bag… which allows them to share products in regular sizes so you actually are holding, using, and enjoying the full-size products for a week or so.*
I loved this.
It felt better than trying with mini samples.
Let’s discuss:
1. Their packaging and branding are simple and beautiful. I mean who wouldn’t want these gorgeous bottles and containers sitting on their counter?!
2. Prices are on par with those out there on the market. I was looking more for facial routines and found these to be comparable to what you might get from Rodan & Fields or from brand names like Philosophy, Estee Lauder, etc. And all their products last a minimum of 3 months.
3. Lets review my three favorite products (that I tried):
Dew Skin Moisturizing Coverage SPF 20 :: $45/1.35fl oz
About: Sheer hydration, weightless coverage, and sun protection combine in this tinted moisturizer. Reveal a dewy complexion with multi-benefit coverage. A company best seller.
Review: Love. I loved the lightness of it, the tint that helped to even out my skin tone, and the SPF! I don’t usually wear much makeup so this seems to be the perfect product for me! I tend to get a little red on my cheeks and it helped even that out a bit too. I feel like I could wash my face, apply this moisturizer, and throw on some powder and mascara and be good for the day! Plus, who doesn’t love dewy skin!?!?
No. 3 Balancing + Charcoal — Facial Mask :: $49/60mL
About: Activated charcoal absorbs excess oil to give skin a smooth, polished appearance. This mask purifies, balances, and stimulates exfoliation for a smooth, refined appearance.
Review: I really enjoyed the consistency of this charcoal mask. It wasn’t too heavy and didn’t get so hard that you felt restricted. It instructs to leave it on for 5-10 minutes and I kept it on closer to 10. It wiped off really easily and left my skin feeling refreshed and exfoliated. My skin afterward felt really clean and soft…
Cleansing Balm :: $80/2.75fl oz
About: Made with vitamin C and raspberry and cranberry oils, this blam melts into skin to brighten and hydrate while it cleanses. Another company best seller.
Review: Love. It. While it is one of the company’s best sellers, I really did enjoy this product! My face didn’t feel like it HAD to be moisturized after using it, but it felt fresh and clean. It even felt brighter! Even though the consistency is a lot like that of Coconut Oil which I had to get used to, I used this at least 5x and the consistency didn’t bother me at all! I can’t wait to order this one!
I’m currently making my wish list for ordering. There are so many products that are calling my name! I can’t even explain how badly I need these things… With no facial routine in place and me pushing mid-thirties, now is the time! PLUS they have makeup too!!!
If you all need anything please feel free to reach out to Ashley or order here. She is the sweetest little thing and I admire her always wanting to find safer products! And by sharing Beauty Counter with me, and now with you, she’s helping fulfill the mission of the company by getting safer products into the hands of everyone!
AND, if you order from Ashely via the link above AND/OR Donate to my sister’s lunchbox campaign {see more details below}, you will be entered to win a Beauty Counter Lip Conditioner ($22 value) and a $10 Starbucks Gift Card!
