Coming back at you with a little more spooky!!! Keep an eye out next week for all Fall & Halloween! I promise we’ve got some good stuff in store!
Last night we were invited to come to the opening night of the Headless Horseman at Conner Prairie! This is an annual tradition at our house! It’s one event that we always bring friends with so we can share our year round love of this place!
This year did not disappoint! Honestly it never does… It’s a great kid friendly event that the whole family can enjoy and our Olive was a major help in figuring out where to go first because there’s so much to do it really is hard to decide!
We ended up playing festival games first! Olive got a strike in pumpkin bowling and Ella enjoyed being the strong girl and hitting past her age!
You can earn tickets to leave at Ticket Tomb to be entered for prizes!
Try your hand at pinning the head on the horseman or plinko! Plinko is a favorite of ours!
Make sure to check out the Magic Show or the Empire of Doom too!
We sat down for a few minutes and watched a showing of the cartoon, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.
And since we were waiting for the sun to go down a little more because we prefer to do the hayride after dark, we visited THE WARM RED BARN… Well, that’s what we call it! You’ll know when you go! But we went to watch Stephen’s Puppets showing of The Headless Horseman. It’s a family favorite too. It’s entertaining and runs about 15-20 min or so.
Then on our way to the Apple Store we hit up the face paint booth. Olive asked for Coco and Ella chose more of a David Pumpkins option… Along with her friend E.
After that, we made a quick dash to the Apple store WHICH IS OPEN UNTIL 10 during Headless Horseman nights! If it’s warm, make sure to grab an apple cider slushie! They are delish. We were cold so we grabbed warm apple cider and boy did they hit the spot. This one (below) went up to the gal behind the counter all on her own and ended up with this… But she’s cute so we’ll allow it.
Now we were ready to ride…
But first the kids danced with the townspeople who were telling scary stories and singing…
This was a new experience that we hadn’t seen or done before so the girls were excited!
And then we were off…
I only screamed loudly once… and may or may not have spooked my own child.
While, I don’t have pictures from the hayride because they ask you not to take flash photography while out there so you don’t spook the horses… and honestly it’s so dark that my photos would be worse than those above! But, should you choose to go during the light, it looks a lot like this…
There’s so many things we didn’t get to hit because of children and bedtimes on a Thursday night, but the one you should make sure to check out (and I’d go during the light if it were me) is the Corn Maze! The maze was new last year and started at 7 acres… This year it’s a whopping 11 acres that you are sure to get lost in!
Headless Horesman runs Oct 11-18 and you can find all the details you will need here. There’s so much to do! You will have a great time!
BUT because you’ve followed us so patiently and endured my post and photos, I’m offering a giveaway of 2 FREE tickets to Conner Prairie (General Admission)!
Be sure to enter below for your chance to win! Winner will be announced on our IG page on Tuesday!
