So, many of you know that in a past life (not so far back there) I was a wedding stylist. My business, Maeve Vintage, would rent boutique furniture and offered styling to many of our clients! One of our favorite things to do was creating styled shoots with other talented vendors!
When we did these shoots, my favorite thing to work on {because most of the time photographers let us run free} was the tablescapes! Yes, I apparently love setting a table! So I decided to do one to share with spooktacular elements!
First, I headed off to one of my favorite stores, Home Goods, to grab some things since I didn’t have time to go through all my Halloween goodies! I also hit up WalMart & The Dollar Store for inexpensive accents.
I’m actually super happy with how it turned out and it was under $65 to create!
I fell in love with this table runner (only $15) and based most of the choices around it! I loved the moody feel and that it could be used with really any theme. Olive, our littlest, is super in love with Coco these days so I wanted to have that feel, but a little less colorful – more moody. And I didn’t want too many skulls around so I offset it with skeleton hands and bats and purple spiders with gems in them.
The Devil’s in the details right?!? I love the small details like these $2 eyeball ice cubes from Wal Mart and who doesn’t love a candy apple?!?
These skeleton plates really sealed the deal! They were fun, funky, and loved the way the colors could go with almost anything! I had the gold flatware on hand and grabbed the napkins at Home Goods when I grabbed these plates.
We had the cakestands on hand too because I still have a small stash of those leftover from Maeve.
I walked down to our neighborhood park and grabbed this funky twig which worked great for hanging these bats and not being in the way of the settings. I sprayed it black before bringing it in. It added a little dimension to the table and since my table is small I didn’t want anything too big because I didn’t want it to feel cluttered while sitting there.
I hope you enjoyed this easy to replicate tablescape for your Halloween dinners! Ells was in love with the glasses and “blood” drink…
…Once I told her it was just Gatorade!
