This weekend we were invited by The City Moms & Eiteljorg Museum to come and take a preview of the Jingle Rails holiday exhibit on it’s opening day! I have to preface this post with the fact that I’d never been to the Eiteljorg and also didn’t know that much about it. I had heard GREAT things about Jingle Rails and was honestly SO EXCITED when I got the invite! I’ve been wanting to visit it and this was the perfect way to do it!
EITELJORG MUSEUM
All I can say is Wow!
Magical.
Gorgeous.
Spectacular.
DOWNTOWN
When we arrived, we headed straight for the exhibit to get our preview in before the doors opened at 10a. I immediately fell in love. The trains overflow into the lobby outside the room housing them so you can see the trains from the moment you walk around the front desk.
Jingle Rails is an enchanting holiday attraction, featuring model trains in impressive and interactive displays. There’s something about trains that just makes you want to be a kid again. Or an old man who collects them hahah. But seriously, there is just something mesmerizing about them and this display is nothing short of that.
JINGLE RAILS
Everything you see is made from all natural products and walking in, you are taken to a magical place. A place where all the mountains are snow-capped, there are balloons flying above, and trains are chugging along in every direction. There’s so many details and so much to see!
My girls came with me and I don’t think Olive stopped saying “Choo Choo” while we were there! I also had her look for “Papa” which is what she calls my dad who really does drive the trains! That kept her busy for a while and while we didn’t find Papa, we did find some of the neatest sets! And the “Find Me” challenge kept my older one busy too!
INDIANA SANTA TRAINS
HOLIDAY EVENTS AROUND INDIANAPOLIS
Along with magical trains running in front of and behind you, there were two other special spots outside the room itself. The Engine made of natural materials that had buttons for the kids to push and spots to peek their heads out of makes for the perfect photo op! Make sure to stop here before you go! There’s also a long table for the kids to color their own engines at with the most adorable train crayons. Seriously. THE. Most. Adorable.
(These crayons are already on my holiday must haves guide coming soon!)
This exhibit has been recognized by USA Today as a “10 Best” Indianapolis holiday attraction and has definitely been added to our Holiday Bucket list which will be posted Friday. And we can’t wait to go back so my husband can see it too! I know he secretly dreams of having his own little train setup in a basement someday… someday.. So for now, exhibits like this will have to do!
CHOO CHOO
Thank you to the Eiteljorg’s Jingle Rails and The City Moms for the amazing invite!
So glad we could make it and we can’t wait to visit again!
