This weekend, amid black friday shopping and excessively shopping online, I took the girls and my sister to Celebration Crossing at the Indiana State Museum. We’d never been before, but were excited to check it out.
*I love exploring this little city of ours. There’s ALWAYS something to do and like this, always things I’ve never seen before!
INDIANA STATE MUSEUM
So we popped over there knowing that Santa was arriving at 12…
Watching Santa FLY in to the Indiana State Museum was like pure magic. I even found myself excited for his arrival! As you start to hear the helicopter flying overhead, you can’t help but get excited and begin looking in all directions.
The Indiana State Museum holiday experience, Celebration Crossing, is now open through January 6th 2019 and you will love it. Three levels of the ISM welcome you in with a multitude of holiday fun! Ride the Santa Claus Express train on the 3rd level and if the line is too long, hop over to the Cardboard Engineering where they have cardboard Gingerbread men if you ask!
On the 2nd level take a peek into Santa’s workshop where kids can create 3D holiday trees, light up ornaments, letters and emails to Santa, map out Santa’s flight around the globe, and practice loading up a sleigh with packages!
CELEBRATION CROSSING
And lastly, but most importantly, make sure to visit Santa and Mrs. Claus in their home. While you are waiting, let the kids play in Santa’s front yard where they build a snowman, have a “snowball” fight, roast pretend smores, and more.
Our favorites were watching Santa land, creating light up ornaments for the tree in Santa’s workshop, and riding the Santa Claus Express!
IG WORTHY INDY
MY FAVORITE was probably the L.S. Ayres Window Display that the train rides around… Who out there remembers L.S. Ayres? I bet there’s still some old receipts and bags from there at my grandmas house!
There’s so much to see at the ISM this holiday season and Celebration Crossing is sure to make it to the top of your Holiday Favorites! And don’t forget to find your county’s ornament on the 92 County Tree and visit the amazing other exhibits while you are there! There are so many great things going on this season and you can find a list and details of them all here.
