Hi.
My name is Abby and I have worked for the federal government for 10 years.
Well, when it’s open.
But since it was closed during schools holiday break (and still is), I have taken full advantage of hanging with my kids…
I wouldn’t have been able to stay home for Christmas until midnight…
I wouldn’t have been able to attempt potty training for a week straight without progress…
I wouldn’t have been able to stay in my pajamas all day (for multiple days)…
I wouldn’t have been able to take my girls to Dave & Busters in the middle of a Monday…
I wouldn’t have been able to go ice skating with my little before dinner…
I wouldn’t have been able to go to The Countdown to Noon at the children’s museum…
I wouldn’t have been able to play giant jenga in a Christmas mess over and over again…
I wouldn’t have been able to go through all of my kids old clothes for donation and sale…
I wouldn’t have been able to stay up way past bedtime with my kids watching Netflix…
I wouldn’t have been able to hang out with my family all this time.
And while I know some are not as fortunate, and while I know some are still working, and while I know I have missed a paycheck…
Over break we were reminded in an all too close capacity that life is short – sometimes unfairly too short…
So I have been trying my best to take in all the moments that I can…
And tell my kids I love them…
And enjoy this time where I am a little less busy than normal.
…Here’s to a 2019 where we take advantage of all the moments…
