Last time we went to Disney, we did a lot of things right which made the experience even more enjoyable. Tonight the bags will be packed and we will be ready to go but in the mean time I’m looking back at our last trip and remembering all the things that helped make it the best decision ever! Below are some great Disney tips we learned while on our last trip to Walt Disney World.
TIPS FOR A MAGICAL DISNEY TRIP
Do Your Research
Before heading out on our last trip, I read almost every blog/article/pop up I could find on Disney while planning. I learned all about where the best places to watch the fireworks, sit for parades, eat, etc! I learned how to get the most out of the dining pass and learned that Disney is not a trip to take on a whim… it’s better planned. So make sure you sit down and do your research on what you want to do, where you might want to eat, make reservations, and sit back and enjoy the trip when you get there!
Make Friends
Talk to the locals and the cast members! Make friends with them. Chat them up. They know all the secrets and are sure to share! Last time we chatted up the cast members at almost all the restaurants and they told us some things! Looking for find something quickly? Just ask them. My husband may or may not have earned a Golden Ticket from “Uncle Freddie” just for being so friendly with him.
Mention Your Special Occasions and Ask For Upgrades
Birthdays, first timers, anniversaries!? Yep! Get your button girl (or boy)! Almost all cast members will notice them THE ENTIRE TRIP. Randomly you’ll hear “Happy Birthday Ella” out of nowhere! Also, ask if there are any upgrades when you check in too… You might just end up with an upgrade to your room which was so much fun!
EXPERIENCE DISNEY
Grab Glow Sticks Before You Go
While this one might sound silly, it’s a great save in the end! Head over to your nearest to the dollar store and stock up on fun glow wands for the evenings. Win Win for you by saving money and the kids still get to have fun glow toys!
Rent a Stroller
We used Kingdom Strollers, but it’s so nice to have a place to lay a sleeping baby or give a 7 year old a break. Hahah because I’m sure this time around Ells will be in there too. Don’t think a double wasn’t contemplated.
Buy Disney Gift Cards at Target
Before you go. Did you know that Target considers these Entertainment cards so if you have a redcard you save 5%?! Go. Buy. Them. Now.
Take It All In
Hit what you love, skip what you don’t, and don’t sweat the small stuff while you are there. This is probably the best of all the Disney tips out there! The nostalgia of Disney World is part of its charm so don’t get caught up in the wait times or the crowds. Enjoy the little things!
Stay Late
Stay until as long as you can… you might be surprised by a sweet note from Walt.
Be Magical
Walt Disney World really is a magical place. The more magic you put out there, the more magical time you will have.
And be prepared to look like this at the end of the day/week! Have a great time!
