I did a lot of small projects for our last trip. Most were done in the middle of the night or on Fridays when my daughter was at school and I had the time off work. I love doing DIYs when I have time for them so I had this idea. Up to this point, I hadn’t seen anything like my DIY Minnie Sleep Mask which I thought was odd but I decided I could totally make them…
*Remember that comment, “up to this point.”*
I started to work on my DIY Minnie Sleep Mask.
I grabbed the following items:
Sleep Mask
Ear Template
Minnie Bow Template
Red Thick Felt
Black Thick Felt
White Felt
Hot Glue Gun
It’s a fairly easy project and turned out really cute. Plus, it basically makes itself.
First, grab your black felt and cut out two ears based on the template. I used this template, but there are ones all over the internet. I actually made two masks, one for each girl, so I cut out four, but you can make as many as you want!
Then cut out your bow using a bow template and the red felt. I used this template (first one shown), but again, there are many out there so feel free to pick the one that tickles your fancy. Also cut out small white”dots” or circles for your bow from the white felt. I just did these freehand.
Glue on your Ears on your mask.
*I just used my judgement on where to space them*
Glue on your dots on your bow.
Glue on your bow on your mask.
*Centered between the ears*
Voila!
Minnie Sleeping Mask.
I did grab sleeping masks that had eyes/eyelashes already on them so if you were to get ones that didn’t have that, you’d also want to cut out little eye lashes too.
But this was such an easy project and super cute and with all the supplies for two masks I spent under $10 AND it took barely any time!
And my oldest slept with hers almost every night at Disney.
BUT remember when I said, “I hadn’t seen anything like them up to this point?” Well…
These were all over once we got to the parks… I linked them in case you wanted to purchase vs make. 🙂
