So for the longest time, I wanted a command center or wall mounted paper roll. I just wanted a place where everyone in the house could see what was going on. We, being my husband and me, can’t seem to get our sh** together enough to use digital calendars, so I just wanted a place that was IN YOUR FACE saying tonight is soccer at 6:30 or there’s a birthday party on Saturday at 1. And for the longest time, a command center was really the only thing I could find that seemed to fit that bill…

But then I kept seeing these paper rolls on the walls all over the places…
In kitchens…
Restaurants/cafes…
Homes…
WALL MOUNTED PAPER ROLL
And I finally realized this was what I was looking for the whole time! And I had the perfect place for it…
But they were all over $100 and I just didn’t feel like putting that much cash into a curtain rod – Sorry, that’s what it is.
So last April (Yes, this is a blog about good things in an untimely fashion), I spent hours on Pinterest and they all looked like they could be replicated… so I did…
What you need is…
2 Betydlig wall ceiling brackets from ikea
1 Racka curtain rod
1 Raffig set of finials
Kraft Paper Roll — 24″ worked for my wall size
And it’s so easy. Mount the hardware in your desired location.
Add Roll.
Pull roll down.
Write on roll.
Enjoy.
The one thing that I love, is that it’s ever-changing. Sometimes we write things up there weekly and include meals for the week, other times we draw a monthly calendar and fill it in as things come up. You can write important information on it easily like phone numbers for babysitters or you can let the kids draw on it. It’s honestly the best addition to our kitchen area and it was about $40 for everything, including the $20 paper roll.
Also, when you are done with that part of the paper, you can cut it off and flip it over and let the kids go to town so it’s kind of like recycling too! Boom.
WINNER
I’m all for easy DIY projects that add to your ease of managing this stressful life and this one takes the cake!
