Since it’s Monday and I’ve started a new lifestyle change where I don’t eat desserts except for maybe a bite here or there, I figured it was time for a Magic Monday post about all the things I cannot eat. hahah. One of the most fun additions to our 2019 trip to Disney was a surprise booked by my husband! He booked the Magic Kingdom Dessert Party (Happily Ever After Fireworks Dessert Party) for us on our last night. We had never done anything like this before and it was a sure treat! We attended after an early dinner at Be Our Guest which worried us, but that’s not all this party is good for!
HAPPILY EVER AFTER
At booking time, you are guaranteeing yourself a spot to watch the fireworks show at 8pm. The garden seating runs about $69/per adult and $41/per child (2019). Treats are served after the fireworks and yes, this does seem expensive for some extra sweets, but you are really paying for the view! With limited tickets sold, you are sure to secure a wonderful view of the castle!
MAGIC KINGDOM DESSERT PARTY
I apologize too for the lack of photos and also quality. It was our last night in the parks and we were exhausted as you should be on your last night at Disney. Pretty sure my brain wasn’t functioning correctly anymore… too much magic, not enough sleep. And not enough light either… and kids that wouldn’t sit still… and again, brain that wasn’t functioning… But believe me, it’s a great time!
In the gardens, people started arriving as early as 6:45/7pm to hold their spot on the greens. Walking up about 6:45p because we weren’t sure what to expect worked just fine. Grab a spot where no one can sit/stand in front of you and the kids could run around for a bit (while being gated in). Most people sit until the show starts and then almost everyone stands for the 18 minute show. And of course… tears. I cry at every fireworks show.
BEST SEATING
Remember my review of the fireworks shows?! Well, Happily Ever After ranks pretty high up there.
CHEERS!
When the show concludes, crowds disperse and you head over to the Tomorrowland Terrace for sweets and treats! Both savory treats and decadent sweets are available as well as sparkling cider served in fancy glasses which made it fun for all! Click the Cheers above to see our toast! We toasted to our last night followed by enjoying fresh fruit, chocolate dipped strawberries, coffee, tea, a make your own smores bar, and so much more! All the Mickey treats are obviously the best! Disney rarely (if ever) misses a beat!
Olive thoroughly enjoyed eating sweets and treats all week long and look at her plate! SO FULL! There were so many great things to choose from… Macaroons, chocolate covered strawberries, smores, fruit, cheeseburger egg rolls, coffee, and sooooo much more!
DELICIOUS & FUN
There is so much food to choose from! Because Tomorrowland Terrace is a little bit off the path, it was a little bit quieter and less chaotic. Tables are reserved for dessert party guests and that makes it feel all the more special! The treats were a hit with all of us. With so many different items to choose from, we all found something we liked the best! I really enjoyed the Mickey Mousse! Delish! Ella and Olive loved the chocolate covered strawberries with the “Happily Ever After” imprinted on it. And Mike enjoyed the cheeseburger egg rolls that were recommended to us by someone while we were waiting on the green! They apparently had been taken off all menus at the parks and there were a ridiculous amount of complaints. This is just what we heard… so don’t shoot the messenger! But if you come across them, they are definitely worth a try!
Overall we had a great time and it was a perfect way to close out another trip! Would we do it again? Probably. We might time some other things that day a little differently, but we still filled our bellies pretty good! As we headed out, we grabbed a cup of coffee to give us that last bit of boost we needed to head back into the parks and ride a few more rides!
If you can afford it and can fit it into the trip, it’s worth enjoying at least once! The best part is that you can get there later and still have seating so that’s a plus! Because we all know that seating for fireworks starts early no matter if you are at Disney or somewhere else! This also isn’t the only fireworks dessert party… there are a few others!
FIREWORKS PARTIES
For a little bit of fun, here’s a video of Ella walking to the Magic Kingdom dessert party from our dinner at Be Our Guest. It’s comical. Enjoy!
