So I have been wanting (more like needing) to refresh our master bedroom for a long time. Don’t get me wrong, I feel like I’ve painted this room 5x or so times in the 10 years we’ve lived here, but since most of the other rooms are basically in their final stages never to be messed with again, it’s time to give this room some love.
We hope to move in the next year or so so we are working to get everything at the house in order and ready for that picture day, but I can’t help but keep doing stuff around here…
But it’s time for one (maybe) last big update around here…
So my husband brought home a new rug for our living room with small bits of guidance from me. When he came home, the rug wasn’t really what I was looking for, but I figured we’d keep it for a bit and either resell it or move it to a different room. Wherever it ends up, it’s going to have a longer shelf life if we get the carpet cleaning experts in Frederick to clean it thoroughly. The time to move it has come! It’s kind of sparked this whole update. With being ready to move it, I was ready to update the other things in the room.
I found this room via Decor Lillie and fell in love. Black walls are popping up everywhere but the look is clean and modern. And I know I’m a little behind the curve on this, but I feel like these bold accent walls aren’t really going anywhere soon. But this room makes me happy with it’s clean and simple colors, but tons and tons of texture with mixing woods, fabrics, and patterns.

I’ve been wanting to add black to my house somewhere and why not in our master?! It’s a bold statement but one wall won’t hurt anyone.
So I started making up a gameplan and cleaning my current room up so that we can get moving on this project!
Within the update I’ll be getting a new bed or headboard, curtains, curtain rods, bedding and lighting. I’m going to repurpose the current end tables in use with a new paint job.
The budget I’m working with is under $500. Well, that’s the goal from what I shared last week. So far, I’ve made about $105 but I’m really hoping to get there to $500. I’ve only sold a few clothes… but there’s still stuff to list so 1 week later at $100, I’m ok with that!
Here’s the breakdown I’m hoping to stick with:
Paint: $30
*If I can pay someone to shiplap the wall with extra budget funds, that will happen!
Bed/Headboard: $125
Nightstands: $0
Lighting: $50-$100
Rug: $0
Curtains: $45
Rods: $50
Accessories: $50
Bedding: $100
_______
Total : $500
I’m thinking this is totally possible. We shall see… Now, how fast this turnaround happens is another story…
But here’s to getting back to decor and what I love… I can’t wait until the big stuff is done and we can style it!
