I honestly don’t think there are too many ways or wrong ways to introduce art into our daily lives. Whether we visit museums or randomly draw in the kitchen or free paint on the walls before redecorating a room, art is always a good idea! And our new favorite way to play is at local art studios.
So when I found Brightly via social media and saw Miss Laura on her stories talking about all things bright and glittery, I knew we had to go.
Brightly is located in Brownsburg, Indiana which is about a 45 min drive from Noblesville (where we live), but well worth it for us! We have never had so much fun all together and felt so welcomed from the minute we walked in!
Walking into the studio you are welcomed by BRIGHT colors and clean slates! We joined for a preschool playgroup but brought Ella along because it was during fall break. Typically when they know it’s a school break, they break the rules a little and allow older siblings to join as well! I also loved how she sat all the littles down at the beginning to tell them what the projects were for the day, where they were, and what they could do with the tools and supplies for each!
I wondered if Ella would be bored because it was a preschool geared setup, but she was not. I mean who doesn’t love splattering paint on paper and pumpkins?! Even adults could get into that… but I refrained myself. And Miss Laura even pulled out a few fun things for Ella to try that weren’t for the littles which made her feel extra special!
*Like salt.
Olive really loved the sensory play area, especially using a mallet to hit golf teas into a pumpkin, which we have since added to our art corner in the kitchen. I think she loved the free play… She could go to any station whenever she wanted and I think that made her feel really good.
Walking around the studio you will find art on all the walls. The studio has fun projects in ever corner… from garland to dream catchers to paper lanterns to canvas… all that look like they have been done by original artists who’ve visited the studio.
Even the bathroom makes you feel artsy and want to create!
I love that this studio is colorful, well lit, open, free form, and well, BRIGHT! There’s something about bright white walls that makes you want to get messy, paint, color, and throw a little glitter too! We are sure to go back and honestly the girls are still talking about it! So while it’s a bit of a drive, I’m pretty sure we will be signing up for classes over the next breaks as well as summer camps!
Anyplace where this is their manifesto, it’s gonna be good!
