The other day I was thinking to myself about how much fun it is to put together charcuterie boards. I love finding the right place on a board and finding complementary flavors. The only downfall to these beautiful boards is that they can get quite pricey.
But the cool thing about creating these fun play on charcuterie boards is that there really are no rules. You can’t do wrong and there are really no limits as to what shape, size, flavors, and features.
CANDY CUTERIE
So I decided to get creative.
My heart was set on creating a Candy-Cuterie board for Valentine’s day and I knew it could get pricey, but it didn’t have to. But we knew right where to go to grab the goods!
Dollar Tree is our go to for fun when we are on a budget. There we picked 12 pink and red candies and cookies for my under $20 candy board. I’m saying under $20 because I added strawberries and raspberries too, but that’s not necessary!
My board was about 10×10 so not too big, but big enough.
Once completed, it was irresistible to tiny hands.
FRUGAL CANDY BOARD
Start with the big items…
I started with the licorice and pretzels.
Then you just kind of fill in the gaps.
We choose to shape the cotton candy into little hearts… (These didn’t last long after we were done)
And if you don’t like where something is, you can move it or start over!
However your candy cuterie ends up, it will be perfect! Because remember, there are no rules!
