Spring is definitely springing around here even though you can’t tell by the weather because it’s absolutely FREEZING out. Which means that the the buds are budding and the birds are signing! And with us being stuck inside for the time being, we are really enjoying feeding the birds with our new bird feeder which inspired us to try to make our own DIY Egg Birdfeeder.
DIYS FOR KIDS
This was a truly an easy DIY and a great one for the kids to do too. A little messy and definitely smells a little funny, but basically you need 3 things.
Birdseed
Plastic Egg
Gelatine
one
First, mix the gelatine according to instructions on the box. I only did 1 pack and it made about 5 eggs.
two
In a bowl, mix the birdseed and gelatine together until the gelatine is pretty much absorbed and has coated the seed.
three
Scoop the seeds into the eggs and gently pack them down.
four
Leave them sit overnight and they will harden giving you your very own DIY Egg Birdfeeder.
If you are looking for something fun to make with your kids that doesn’t have to sit in the house forever and get caught being thrown in the trash (like most of the crafts they do), then this is it. When you are done, you will have a lovely spring gift for a friend or cute little treats for the birds to hang on your trees…
