Listen… I know this is a very high stress time. But honestly, I’m kind of loving it. I love staying home. And spending time with my kids (although mini breaks are very much welcomed). It’s fun to get around to tasks that have been just waiting forever to be done even if there are some I’m still ignoring and there were a few things that I wanted to buy long before now, and this quarantine has forced the purchases. So here are my quarantine and summer approved purchases for you and yours!
BIKES FOR THE FAMILY
We finally got bikes for the fam! We searched Marketplace over and over and over again and in the end, ended up purchasing cruisers for both Mike and myself. It’s been really fun riding my yellow cruiser around with the girls! We have even been taking family bike rides like once a week at least!

And we found this iBert bike seat (please ignore the mess behind it) for Olive that has been awesome! She loves riding around — we put the phone in the cup holder of my bike with some music on and she just dances away with the wind in her hair! Also, it was SO EASY to install!
We’ve had our playhouse for a couple years now, but I would 100% approve this quarantine purchase. Know that the building of it could be a little bit of a hassle, but hey, we have the time! You can do one like ours, for your backyard, or find others like these that can be used indoors! Either way, having a few extra play spots around is not a bad idea right now!

I shared a post about my favorites the other day, but any craft kits are awesome because they give you what you need — no more and no less! Plus they usually take up at least an hour if not more AND they can probably count towards e-learning specials!
When my husband brought this one home I was like ummmm… no. Sell it. Take it away. We have the tiniest yard, but it seems to fit. Thank goodness we kept it because it goes up just about every other day for the girls to get some energy out of their system. This one is similar to ours because it’s a never version, but the girls love the basketball hoop and the slide! It’s also just a fun way to be outside and play dolls on our read or even nap!
Hey, if we are going to be stuck at home, we might as well cook in style right?! Another one of my crazy husband purchases (and the accessories like a travel bag and new pizza peel) but I’m thinking it was worth it. We spend time in the kitchen together creating our masterpieces and then Mike fires up the oven and cooks them for us. Now he has dreams of a pizzaria but I’m not going to consider that a quarantine worthy purchase just yet.

We’ve always wanted to start a garden in our yard, but never really took the time to do it, but this year we took baby steps at first and then jumped all in! We started with a small indoor greenhouse and some seeds and when I didn’t fail at that, we invested in a self-watering raised bed! If you aren’t super green-thumbed, this is probably going to be the best of your summer purchases. But again, if we are stuck at home and have the time, why not try to grow things like our own lettuce and basil?!
