Even though we aren’t still STUCK at home, lots of us are still pretty much staying at home. Some are moving around more, but not many are heading right back to museums. And there are still some summer days where you are looking for something to do besides the pool or bike riding so I’ve gathered what I think are the most fun and unique 10 interactive and immersive virtual tours out there right now! I hope you like!
DISNEY VIRTUAL TOURS & RIDES
After yesterday’s post, I figured I could start with Disney. You can take a ride on EVERY RIDE (most with 360 views) and all without the price tag or wait times! I shared 5 faves from Magic Kingdom yesterday, but below is a list of every ride you can at Disney World Florida that can be found on YouTube.
Or maybe tours are more your speed… here’s a couple links for tours. But they don’t give it all away 😉
VIP Tour with Top Flight Family
Happiest Vlogs on Earth VIP Tour
And if you aren’t sure what the tours are all about? You can find out more on that here.
NORTHERN LIGHTS
If you know me, I have this odd fascination with the Northern Lights. I’ve never seen them but I want to. There’s something magical about their colors and how it all works. Whatever it is, I love it. And there’s a way to see them in a live virtual experience via Explore.org.
WONDERS OF THE WORLD
I mean, who doesn’t want to visit the Wonders of the World? They are all so beautiful, mystical, enchanting, and fill us with amazement at how they were accomplished. But if you can’t travel far, check out the virtual options for these beautiful wonders. Some are better than others, but hey, it’s still pretty cool!
Great Wall of China
Chichen Itza
Petra, Jordan
Taj Mahal
Christ the Redeemer
The Colosseum
Machu Picchu
GIVERNY
Have you ever seen the gorgeous works of Claude Monet? Well why not (1) introduce your family to some new artists and (2) tour the gardens at Giverny where Monet found loads of inspiration – actually for over 250 paintings! The gardens are gorgeous and might even inspire a painting session afterwards!
THE GREAT BARRIER REEF
You might find a familiar voice when you click here — David Attenborough has guided us through many a natural landscape via Blue Planet and Our Planet on Netflix. But this tour is really quite unique. With 5 chapters and a unqiue underwater perspective, you are sure to learn and be amazed while right alongside Mr. Attenborough himself!
THE LOURVE
An attraction visited by millions and yearned to be visited by millions more, the Louvre Museum has a great selection of virtual tours based on their permanent collections. The tours are easy to navigate with an expandable mini-map that lets you view with just a couple clicks!
THE FAROE ISLANDS
This one is actually super unique as it allowed visitors to guide their own tours! I watched a CBS Sunday Morning segment on it and was completely in love with this idea! I did notice that the last tour was held on June 17th 2020, but if you visit their facebook page, you can watch the recordings there! Either way this one is fun to watch the guides have to run, jump, squat, whatever as they explore the Faroe Islands but at the hand of the virtual explorer!
THE GEORGIA AQUARIUM
I don’t think I’ve ever been to this aquarium, but isn’t watching fish in the water just super magical?! You feel like you are right there with them. And if we can’t be right there with them physically, then we’ll take a virtual tour any day! Check out the webcams at the Georgia Aquarium and find out what Beluga Whales do in their spare time! There’s even underwater ones!
SWIM WITH DOLPHINS
Ever wanted to ACTUALLY swim with the dolphins?! Well, this might be the next best thing! Thanks to the work of VIEMR, you can now join divers as they swim with a pod of dolphins in a 360-degree experience.
THE AMAZON
You can now visit the soothing surroundings of the Amazon, the world’s largest Rainforest. With the issues the Rainforest is having these days, it’s really lovely to be able to revel in it’s majestic qualities. Conservation.org has some great virutal tours and educational content which aims to raise awareness on the issue of deforestation. The Amazon is just stunning.
I guess I know how I’ll be spending my weekend…
Which is your favorite?
