MERMAID ENCOUNTERS
Swimming with dolphins is easily topped by swimming with magical sea creatures! Visit Sisters of the Sea & Dive Bar to swim with the mermaids in their back lagoon! Visit their site to check the times the mermaids are visiting from their home in the sea, but it’s typically on Friday, Saturdays, and Sundays from 3-6pm. And they even have a live mermaid cam!
SHELL ISLAND
Take a trip on the Shell Island Shuttle where you’ll find an uninhabited island full of shells, sea life, and usually dolphins! The Official Shell Island Shuttle carries passengers between St. Andrews State Park and Shell Island every 1/2 hour, 7 days a week from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. While we didn’t make this one while we were there last time, it was on our list we just didn’t get to it. I wanted to shell here so badly… I’ve heard they have REALLY great shells, hence the name!
THE KIDDIE POOL
{AT ST ANDREWS STATE PARK}
We learned about this little spot while on the Pirate Cruise, but it’s a great spot for any day, but specifically if there’s red flags at the beach. So when we had double red flags, we decided to head over to St. Andrews State Park to play in the kiddie pool. There’s a small fee to get into the park but well worth it! The kiddie pool offers a very calm, clear, and shallow place for any family to enjoy the water! Bring your own beach chairs, towels, blankets and tents, and pack a cooler so you can enjoy a day a the beach! Just make sure to not go outside the rocks… Seriously, just don’t do it.
COCONUT CREEK FAMILY FUN PARK
This place is one that everyone loves. While there are many mini golf and fun parks around the area, this one is definitely our favorite! Choose from 1 of 2 18 mini-golf courses and have a great safari themed experience! Come experience the excitement and challenge of playing Coconut Creek’s two, tropical 18-hole mini-golf courses. Kids 5 and under play for free and you will love seeing all the animals, waterfalls, and newly shaded spots!
