When we moved into the new house, I decided that I was going to actually design some {what I hoped would be} super cute rooms for the girls. I wanted them to flow with the rest of the house and be casual and chic, but also something that let them feel like they had their own little space. I also wanted to try to not break the bank because I just am not comfortable with that yet… I hope to be comfortable spending loads of money someday, but until then, I will do my best to hunt, thrift, and reuse what I have! So, Olive was up first, and here’s our go at her kids bedroom design.
First, I knew I wanted to wallpaper. I’ve had my eye on this removeable wallpaper from Coloritto forever. You can actually find it at a few different places but I found a great deal on it here before we moved. So make sure to compare prices! Seek and you shall find…
WALLPAPER
So the wallpaper was the jumping off point…
From there, I knew I wanted two twin beds for her. I’ve always wanted this “look” but never had rooms capable of handling it! So, I looked everywhere for twin beds. Man, furniture is expensive. So, we sold the girls Kura Bed from IKEA and put that money towards some I found on Marketplace.
OLD HOUSE TOUR
With those two items settled on, I came up with this mood board.
Beds (similar) // Wallpaper // Dresser (similar) // Rug (similar) //Baskets (similar) // Ledges // Animal Busts
Bedding // Blankets // Dolls // Sunshine Prints // Dollhouse
There are a few things in this room that I know I’ll be adding too…
Like a reading wall…
This bookcase…
And a layering rug…
But for now, her room is feeling like we are making great progress and it’s got the feel of a great kids bedroom design!
