We moved in about 3 months ago now – wow how can it be that long already!? But for the first 2 months, we had NO ONE around us on our end of the street. It was nice and quiet and not that we don’t want neighbors, we were just the only ones. But times have changed… over the last 3 weeks, we’ve gotten at least 12 new neighbors on the street and I was looking for a fun way to introduce ourselves and say hello! Enter the Smores Kit New neighbor gift. Keep reading to see how I made it and how it turned out!
S’MORES NEIGHBOR GIFT
I found a couple of ideas on Pinterest that were pretty cool, but I found one specifically that I wanted to base mine on. I didn’t want it to be exactly the same, and I didn’t have time to make it as complicated but loved a couple of elements of it and I wanted it to be similar and have the same easy feel! To make that happen I had to add a couple of supplies to the list.
First, you obviously will need marshmallows, graham crackers, and chocolate, so I just started grabbing a couple each time I ran to the store. I prayed my kids wouldn’t find the chocolate because if they did, I knew it would be gone in a heartbeat!
MEMORABLE GIFT OPTIONS
But then came the fun part — how to display ?! It’s all about the presentation! I love styling up rooms, baskets, parties, and sets so I couldn’t wait to put this little smores kit together! But I didn’t want it to be a basket, I wanted more of a box lunch feel so I ordered some gable boxes! You can actually find these at Hobby Lobby in the party section for $1 each. So I grabbed a few… you can also order large amounts here.
While I could have just thrown everything into this box as it was, that would be no fun! So I put the marshmallows in a clear treat box (also found in the party section), tied up three Hershey bars, and purchased the “snack” pack of graham crackers so they came in these cute little sets! Each gift box got three candy bars, two boxes of marshmallows, two sets of graham crackers, and some little snacks for the kiddos!
WELCOME TO THE NEIGHBORHOOD
I also included a tag that I made — as well as a handwritten note from me and my husband!
I think they turned out so stinking cute and I can’t wait to deliver them tomorrow!
Welcome to the neighborhood! This is my first time doing neighbor gifts. I just thought it would be a cute little thing to do for those new kids on the block since we’ve gotten here. I figure there’ll be many nights with us all outside and some bonfires too, right?! So why not prep their pantry with this great summer treat!
