It’s the last day of school over here in Indiana and it’s filling a few firsts! It’s the first time my oldest daughter has been SAD on the last day and it’s the first time we are leaving on vacation the following day! So I decided celebratory gifts were needed and why not pull together a fun little basket for the last day of school with a few surprises they can use at the beach! Here’s our go at a School’s Out for Summer Basket!
I grabbed these awesome waterproof baskets and got started. I try to find things like this that we can continue to use – these will be perfect for pool days and outdoor toys! Most of the items I used for this fun surprise are from Target because (1) I’m lazy and forget to order things and (2) it’s just so easy to grab things there! Plus, drive-up pickup! Duh!
So once I had the baskets, I started filling them with all the goodies!
I included the following in each:
A hat for the beach – Pool Hair // Beach Babe
A movie for the drive – Wonderpark // Ugly Dolls
Sunscreen
A beach towel
A water balloon slinger
Dive Toys
Sidewalk Chalk
Hair Accessories
A water shooter
Bubble Gum
Postcards
Games Skipbo // Kids card games
I added a few different things in each too. Like Olive got a bug catcher and Ella got a book she’s been wanting and I included some floss so we can make friendship bracelets when it’s raining or while we are laying at the beach.
They were so excited when they saw these that it made me smile! I love putting together baskets for different occasions! It’s fun, and the kids like it and it fulfills my need to purchase at the Target Dollar Spot! hahaha.
How do you celebrate the end of the school year?! I’m thinking next year I’ll have a small party… I’ve got some ideas of what would be super cute and fun!
