It can seem like being busy is something that is considered normal, and almost like a badge of honor. What do you do if you’re not busy? However, even if it is considered the norm, being busy can cause problems for health and stress levels, and it can mean that you feel tired, overwhelmed, and feel very stressed. That is why stress relief is important for us all, particularly for those of us who are busy and it’s important we handle stress as a busy mom in the best way we can
When things are busy, it can be hard to just think that you’ll be able to have time to relax and destress, as there are so many other things that you could be doing. Stress management is something that is so important, though, so one of the things that you can do for yourself, as well as for others, is to find something simple and quick that works for you, that will allow you to relax a little, but won’t take so much time out of your day. Here are some suggestions to try.
ARE YOU A BUSY MOM?
Choose a quick and easy stress reliever
If you’re going through your day feeling busy or feeling stressed, then it can stop you from being able to relax. There are some quick fixes to this, though, that won’t take hours, so they can slot into your day. Something that is as simple as deep breathing or meditation can help to relax your body, and to halt any stress. Find something quick and easy that works for you, and remember to implement it in your everyday life.
Reduce how much caffeine you consume
If you are someone that relies on coffee or cola to get through your day, then overall, you could be making yourself feel worse. When you have too much caffeine, then you can stop yourself from being able to rest as well, and it can lead to a cycle of sleep deprivation if it becomes extreme. By knowing what damage caffeine can do to your stress levels, you’ll see that it makes complete sense to cut down.
Find a hobby that you can enjoy
A hobby that you can do, where you’re no longer mom or wife or colleague, can be such a good thing for your stress levels. It could be baking, cooking, running, other exercise, reading, a team sport, or even puzzles and games. If something like puzzles can make you feel more stressed when you get stuck, then you could always look for a website to help you to unscramble words, for example. When you make some time for your hobby because you enjoy it, then it will help with your stress levels in a big way.
Learn to say no
Learning to say no is something that can be difficult, especially when there are so many things that we feel we ought to be doing. However, in order to look after your levels of stress, you need to learn that you don’t need to be doing everything, not all at the same time, anyway. Reduce your load and it will help you to feel less stressed.
