I love surprising the girls with little treats for the holidays. You may remember last years Boo Baskets (find them here too in a GH roundup!) and many of the finds from Dollar Tree last minute. Well this year wasn’t much different on the last minute front, but we shopped around a few different places this time! But how do you put together a fairly easy boo basket? Keep reading for a breakdown of the “Witches Brew” boo baskets I made for the girls!
First, you’ll need a “base.” I wasn’t feeling a basket or a bag or even a Halloween bucket this year so I changed it up and went with cauldrons as the holder. I loved that I was able to find a mini cauldron at Wal-Mart so the girls had different sizes. They turned out so cute.

Then you fill it up. Great ideas for bigger filler items include books and pajamas. These go great for any holiday! This year we went with I Spy Halloween & How to Catch a Monster {which after reading realized it’s nothing to do with Halloween haha}. Both girls liked the book options. Find my other great Halloween Book picks to find some you don’t have already!
As for pajamas?! We went with Target skeletons for Olive & a Jack Skellington onesie for Ella. She found this one at Wal-Mart and we couldn’t leave without it so that wasn’t a big surprise for her. And actually, now that I think about it, Olive was with me when I bought hers too.
HALLOWEEN PRINTABLES
After that find all the fun goodies you like… We tried to steer clear of too much candy this time around so one got some cotton candy and the other got a sucker as well as a Halloween Kinder Egg. Do your kids still love these? We added light up necklaces for the girls to trick or treat with, cute flags that you might have seen I DIY’d if you follow on IG, window clings, and cups for the season! It doesn’t take much to make a great basket!
My girls were so excited when they came home from school and found them on the counter!
So, do you make boo baskets or any holiday baskets?
And what’s your favorite thing to put in them?!
