It’s hard to believe it’s already week 3 of the One Room Challenge over here! With a few delays on furniture this might be a mish-mash of information this week. The plan was to go over the furniture layout but I was hoping it would be WITH furniture! But alas, nothing ever goes exactly as planned! Either way, we’ll share the furniture layout with what we have and the beginnings of a few easy DIYS that’ll end up out there too!
First – YAY! I’m actually making progress!
The furniture we are using is a combination of sofa & chairs from world market, adirondacks from wayfair, and diy elements mixed with things we already have. You might remember where we were last week (Week 2) — the patio went in!
And you probably remember the mood board from Week 1 too…
So now it’s time for things to start coming together – little by little!
WEEK 1 // WEEK 2
The plan for the patio is a dining area, a conversation area, a grill area, and a firepit area.
And it’s supposed to rain for the rest of the week here which means since my covers aren’t here yet, I’m hesitant to put anything out! And I’m taking all the precautions that I can to help make all these things last as long as they can! So Scotchgard is my friend (I hope) for all these creamy cushions…
OTHER ONE ROOM CHALLENGE INSPIRATION
With 10 cushions total, this could take a while…
But it will be fully worth it because my kids are slobs — who can relate?!
OLD HOME TOUR
We were also lucky enough to fall into a great Facebook Marketplace find – this brand new, in box, chair from Outer. PRAISE BE! I felt like I’d hit the jackpot when I found it – sure it was not real – BUT IT WAS! And let me just say, I’m truly in love! It’s beautifully made, feels so solid, and it’s made for messy kids like mine! hahah But in all seriousness, this chair when not purchased on Marketplace, is an investment (and I’d obviously like another one should my bank account ever approve).
THINGS YOU NEED FOR SUMMER
And we are still working out the outdoor patio table. Remember I said there would be some DIYs? Well, the husband decided to take all that on by himself. He asked for a design and I thought one similar to the West Elm Portside table would work. Since this will be one of his first big projects, I didn’t want to get too excited and carried away with designs. He thinks he can do it and I think he can too! So stay tuned for more…
And here’s the latest update on the furniture setup… One more chair to build and not sure where it’s going…
SHOP MY PICKS
And half of the fire pit area is set up with the current Adirondacks that we have and are hoping to upgrade to black!
So while it’s much less than what I’d hoped to be sharing at this point, it is only week 3 and we are making progress!
Make sure to check out all the other participants over on the ORC blog!
