On our Stranger Things Summer Tour, we did hit up another fan find… The Stranger Things Store. As we headed up to the Wisconsin Dells, we decided to break up the trip with a somewhat surprise stop in Oak Brook, Illinois to check out this Stranger Things experience.
I had heard about this infamous store from my daughter who just loves ST. She kept asking me to take her to visit my brother who lives in Dallas where one of them was. But I found it odd that there was only one location so I dug in. After searching, I found out there are currently 3 locations – Paris, Dallas, and CHICAGO! With Chicago only being 3 hours away, I was totally in for this slight detour!
FAVORITE STRANGER THINGS MERCH
If you are wanting to check it out yourself, as far as I know, it does close in Chicago on August 21st, 2022. But, I felt like for a FREE excursion (minus the drive), this was totally worth checking out! Plus, the mall it’s located in is pretty cool to walk around anyways, so go check it out. The only caveat is that you must reserve tickets, but don’t worry they are FREE. ***And make sure to reserve enough for each person because I accidentally only reserved 1 admission (even though on the site it says 1 reservation counts for up to 8 people). *** You can reserve those tickets here…
If they are sold out, don’t fret just yet! You can always join the virtual queue when you get there — and honestly, I’m pretty sure they just let everyone in when we went… It quickly because very full and I saw the lines outside so… I would think you can get in pretty easily – maybe a short wait, but again, worth it.
The store is mostly filled with merchandise (some of which you can only get there!) from the Netflix show, but has many memorable and worthwhile photo ops! My favorite being the bikes… But the entire store is like walking through the store… You walk through a hall and find yourself in Hawkins and some of it’s most iconic locations. We also found out that all the stores are a little different too! So, if you can hop a flight to Dallas or Paris you’d have a different experience to take in!
So anyways, if you have time before August 21st to hop a trip to Chicago, you should take it and enjoy the Stranger Things Store. Just make sure to reserve tickets here before you go!
