It’s always fun to give the kids a little treat for all the different holidays and Halloween is no different! I’m over here playing catch up on the Halloween shares, but this is one you can pin for next year! There are so many things that kids ask for, need, and love so why not surprise them with a fun little holiday themed basket full of goodies. This year, I tried to include a few local ladies and their crafts and I think they were a hit! Here’s our 2022 Boo Baskets (or bags) and what all was included!
WITCHES BREW BOO BASKETS
First, start with a bag or basket you like. I found these at Home Goods and figured they would work. This was before I knew McDonald’s was going to do the nostalgic Halloween buckets and even before I knew what I’d put in them. It could be what they’ll use for their trick or treating time or just a fun bag they can use for toys or a basket that’ll end up in their room! Doesn’t have to be big either… Boo Baskets can be big and small!
Next, figure out what you’ll put in for the surprises! Like I said, this year I was excited to include a few local ladies who create some really cool crafts!
Here’s what was found in our Boo Baskets!
- A chocolatey Marshmallow from Becky the Bakester
- Pop Rocks
- Stickers from Michael’s
- A Drink Cup
- An Acorn Necklace from Sewful Cheryl
- Pumpkin Crayons from Art 2 The Extreme
- Paint a Pumpkin/Ghost from Adelli
- Makeup Wipes
- Printable Flags from Little Miss Martha & Adopt A Fairy Co.
HOCUS POCUS BOO BASKET
I don’t like to make them too big because sometimes you get to a point when you just start throwing in junk. This year I feel like all the unique items in the Boo Baskets were purposeful and made sense! We got drink cups because the girls like a morning “coffee” so they got a Halloween themed cup. They are really into accessories and died over the acorn necklaces! They love a good craft to fill time afterschool so the painting project was a win! And of course, they are 100% into makeup (both of them) so makeup wipes were a necessity!
Make sure whatever you put in yours makes sense! You don’t have to follow this to a tee and you don’t have to even put almost 10 things in them! Bigger isn’t always better! Pick quality things for your kiddos! As my girls get older, I figure we’ll end up with more gift cards at some point… Don’t just buy to buy.
