After what we felt was an epic Halloween party last year, we knew this year we’d have to up our game in one way or another. Following up a great party with another the next year is the hardest thing you can do! But we knew this would be an annual thing and setting the tone with the invite is one way to create excitement right out of the gate! So, with this years party theme being Stranger Things, we created this pretty cool invite to get our guests excited and start setting the mood!
CREATIVE HALLOWEEN INVITATIONS
First, we knew we wanted something that had a physical piece about it and also had some “texture.” We started with a black box to send everything in, knowing it wouldn’t all be flat. We added a sticker to the outside, although I’d hoped to add a Mind Flayer shape to the front of the box, I just ended up going in a more practical (for time) direction.
We then created personalized ID tags for all our guests. I did a little Facebook snooping to grab photos and created IDs on Canva, then adding their photos into them. ID cards were Hawkins High School, Hawkins Middle School, Hawkins National Laboratory, Radio Shack, Hawkins Power & Light, and Scoops Ahoy. I think that’s all of them.
I printed them out, laminated them, then cut them out. They didn’t have to be perfect.
MORE STRANGER THINGS
I also created the actual invitations and RSVPs on Canva. If you haven’t figured it out yet, it’s my go to. I created a Joyce Beyers inspired invite with paneling and floral “wallpaper” and on the back a small surprise –
there’s a Demogorgon!
The RSVP cards were cassette tapes that I created and added some fun text to it!
To make it a little more fun, we added mini Christmas lights across the top.
And to finish it all off, we added three Stranger Things stickers to every invite round out the invite!
