If you have been around here for a while, you might know that I love doing a tablescape. It’s actually one of my favorite things to do. But you might also know, if you’ve been around here long enough, that I’m slow to pull things together aka I roll in last minute style. So, this Father’s Day Table came together with the help of Canva, nuts, and a few instacart last minute deliveries! But now, dad for sure knows we are NUTS about him!
First, one piece of advice. When it comes to creating tablescapes, try to work with with you have. If you have to go out and buy everything new every time, that’s no fun. I mean, unless you have the means and you want to, then it’s probably fun. But we roll a little bit thriftier over here. Also, if you are buying new, make sure to pick up items that are versatile and can be used again another time in another way. Or, pick neutrals that can be a base that colors and other designs are added to.
So with this one, we picked up a few items to make this happen:
Galvanized Chargers
Brown Beer Bottles – these totally could have been collected over time, but we found them at goodwill.
Jute Runner – I had this, but picked it up here a while back.
Every kind of Nut – Peanuts, Pistachios, Almonds, Walnuts, Pecans, etc!

Once you’ve gathered your items, start to layer. Think about textures, coordinating colors, different heights, etc. All these elements will make your tablescape stand out!
I layered chargers with a wood tone bowl and added a scoop of nuts for fun. I tied it all together with some old belts for a different texture and just to add interest to the place setting.
Then I wanted a fun, but simple centerpiece so I used paper mache letters that you can get online or at your local craft store and cut off the tops. I did this at our Halloween party too using the letters BOO and filled with drink garnishes. This is super easy and recreatable to use in lots of different ways.

We gathered up nuts we already had from the pantry and bought a few more to fill the letters D-A-D and I actually lined them with brown tissue paper. You could line them with wax paper too to prevent staining from grease if you are hoping to reuse. I also picked up some store bought cupcakes and added pistachio shells to the top as decoration.
Don’t over do it. While I do love LAYER upon LAYER of texture, sometimes it’s cool to KISS. hahah I had to. Keep it simple! Here we used simple florals like baby’s breath since our guy isn’t much into flowers and baby’s breath is always super affordable. We added pisatcios as the nuts in the scoop because those are his favorite and took a tiny sprig of the baby’s breath and tucked it into the belt closure.
We added simple printables which you can download (keep scrolling) to use yourself — or you can create your own. I’m a huge proponent of Canva! It’s easy to use and they have great templates out there! But back to the printable tags… if you use these, maybe add a reason you are NUTS about your dad on the back of them for a little more personalization.
FATHER’S DAY DAD LIBS
To finish, we’d all been wanting to try OliPOP and so with it being Father’s day, I figured it worked. I grabbed 4 root beers and added those to the table settings.
