Hosting a Delightfully Taylor Swift-Inspired Bridal Shower

If you’re a bride-to-be’s soon-to-be sister-in-law searching for the perfect theme for her bridal shower, look no further than the enchanting world of Taylor Swift.   It does help if the maiden name of the soon-to-be-sister-in-law is Swift too.  Known for her romantic lyrics, vintage aesthetics, and whimsical charm, a Taylor Swift-inspired bridal shower is a fantastic way to celebrate the upcoming nuptials. In this blog post, we’ll share how we pulled off a bridal shower that captures the essence of Taylor’s style and music and sends our bride-to-be off into her Marriage Era. We created our own “ticket” with important details mixed in.  To set the invitation off, we added Taylor Swift stickers and a bit of confetti/glitter all sent off in pastel colored in ticket envelopes!   We tried to stick to the watercolor color scheme to keep this party chic while still being stylish & trendy! 

2. Venue and Decor: Channeling Taylor’s Dreamy Aesthetic

Transform your chosen venue, in this case our home, into a wonderland that Taylor herself would adore. We tried to keep the colors creamy and fairytale like with mirrorball accents and watercolor inspired floral arrangements that echo the charm of her music videos.  We tried to stick to Fairytale & Lover aesthetics, but there’s so many options!

Create a fun photo backdrop too!  We used this balloon garland and our Cricut to cut out “Lover” as a backdrop for the bride-to-be to open gifts in front of!  By adding butterflies and florals, it gave just the right touch of whimsy to this vingette! 

3. Dress Code: Embracing Taylor’s Iconic Fashion

While we didn’t necessarily encourage this, we did have all different types of wear representing many different T Swift albums.  A couple cousins came in very Taylor Swift concert style and I loved it!  Embrace Taylor’s iconic fashion sense by opting for vintage-inspired dresses, floral prints, and even a touch of lace. You could also suggest that guests choose outfits reminiscent of Taylor’s different eras, from the ‘Fearless’ cowboy boots to the elegant and sleek ‘Lover’ era. Don’t forget the red lipstick to complete the look!

I really really really wanted to order and wear this but chickened out! 

4. Activities and Games: A Touch of Taylor’s Playfulness**

Because our bride-to-be is very new to the family and lives far enough away that we don’t see her that much, we chose games that would be more get to know you types.  We did a “Hi, It’s me, I’m the Bride it’s me,” game that was all questions about the bride.  What’s her favorite color?  Her favorite football team?  Those type of questions.  

Incorporate games that pay tribute to Taylor’s lyrics and life moments. A “Love Story” scavenger hunt, where guests follow clues inspired by her songs, is sure to be a hit. For a sentimental twist, have guests write heartfelt advice or wishes for the bride using Taylor Swift lyrics as inspiration.

5. Food and Drinks: Delicious Delights Taylor Would Love

Create a menu that blends classic favorites with a Taylor Swift twist. Foods like cupcakes with edible butterflies and Mirrorballs or Sparks Fly chicken salad sandwiches are what we opted for, but a ‘Shake It Off’ cocktail bar would be  really fun playful option as well!  Incorporate pastel colors and floral designs into the cake and desserts to keep the aesthetic consistent.

6. Music and Entertainment: A Night of Taylor’s Greatest Hits

No Taylor Swift-inspired bridal shower is complete without an epic playlist featuring her greatest hits. From “Love Story” to “Wildest Dreams,” let the music fill the air and set the mood for a night of celebration, dancing, and laughter.  We just told Alexa to play and let it go!  

7. Favors: Tokens of Taylor’s Sweetness

Send guests home with personalized favors that embody the Taylor Swift theme. Customized cookies, custom friendship bracelets to memorialize the event – use the wedding date, bride and groom’s initials, and certain swift titles like sparks fly and lover on them – or even framed Taylor Swift quotes will serve as lasting reminders of this delightful day.
